Allergy Work

Advanced Allergy Clearing Technique, A.A.C.T.

What are Allergy Elimination Techniques?

Dr. Nambudripad developed Allergy Elimination Techniques, also known as NAET®, are a non-invasive, drug free, natural solution to eliminate allergies of all types and intensities using a blend of selective energy balancing, testing and treatment procedures from acupuncture/acupressure, allopathy, chiropractic, nutritional, and kinesiological disciplines of medicine. Dr. Ulan streamlined her work into the AACT Allergy work we offer at our office. One allergen is treated at a time. If you are not severely immune deficient, you may need just one treatment to desensitize one allergen. A person with mild to moderate amount of allergies may take about 15-20 office visits to desensitize 15-20 food and environmental allergens. Basic essential nutrients are treated during the first few visits. Chemicals, environmental allergens, vaccinations, immunizations, etc. are treated after completing about ten basic essential nutrients. NAET® can successfully eliminate adverse reactions to egg, milk, peanuts, penicillin, aspirin, mushrooms, shellfish, latex, grass, ragweed, flowers, perfume, animal dander, animal epithelial, make-up, chemicals, cigarette smoke, pathogens, heat, cold, other environmental agents. It may take several office visits to desensitize a severe allergen.NAET® was discovered by Dr. Devi S. Nambudripad in November of 1983.

Allopathy & Western Sciences
Knowledge of the brain, cranial nerves, spinal nerves and autonomic nervous system from Western medicine enlightens us about the body's efficient multilevel communication network. Through this network of nerves, vital energy circulates through the body carrying negative and positive messages from the brain to each and every cell in the body and back to the brain. Knowledge of the nervous system, its origin, travel pathway, the organs and tissues that will benefit from its nerve energy supplies (target organs and tissues) and its destination, help us to understand the energy distribution of particular spinal nerves that emerge from the 31 pairs of spinal nerves.

Kinesiology
Kinesiology is the art and science of movement of the human body. Kinesiology is used in NAET® to compare the strength and weakness of any muscle (also known as neuromuscular sensitivity testing (NST)) of the body in the presence and absence of any substance. A measured weakness in the presence of a substance is due to the effect of an allergy to the item the person is touching. This simple method can be used to detect your allergens.

Chiropractic
Chiropractic technique helps us to detect the nerve energy blockage in a specific nerve energy pathway by detecting and isolating the exact nerve root being pinched. The exact vertebral level in relation to the pinched spinal nerve root helps us to trace the travel route, the destination and the target organs of that particular energy pathway. D. D. Palmer, considered the "Father of Chiropractic," said, "too much or too little energy is disease." A pinched nerve can cause disturbance in the energy flow. Chiropractic medicine postulates that a pinched nerve or any such disturbance in the energy flow can cause disease, revealing the importance of maintaining an uninterrupted flow of nerve energy. A pinched nerve or an obstruction in the energy flow is often the result of an allergy. Spinal manipulation at the specific vertebral level of the pinched nerve, can relieve the obstruction of the energy flow and help the body to arrive at a state of homeostasis.

Acupuncture / Oriental Medicine
Yin-Yang theory from Oriental medical principles teaches the importance of maintaining homeostasis in the body. According to Oriental medical principles, "when the body is in perfect balance, no disease is possible.". Any disturbance in the homeostasis can cause disease. Any allergen capable of producing a weakening muscular effect in the body can cause disturbance in homeostasis. Hence, diseases can be prevented and cured by maintaining homeostasis. According to acupuncture theory, acupuncture and/or Acupressure at certain acupuncture points is capable of bringing the body to a state of homeostasis by removing the energy blockages from the energy pathways known as meridians. When the blockages are removed, energy can flow freely through the energy meridians, thus bringing the body in perfect balance.

Nutrition
You are what you eat! The secret to good health is achieved through right nutrition. What is right nutrition? And how do you get it?

When you can eat nutritious foods without discomfort and assimilate their nutrients, that food is said to be the right food. When you get indigestion, bloating, or other digestive troubles upon eating the food, that food is not helping you function normally. This is due to an allergy to the food. Different foods react differently in different people. What is food for some may be poison for others. You've probably heard the expression , "one man's meat is another man's poison." So, it is very important to clear the allergy to the nutrients. Allergic people can tolerate food that is low in nutrition better than nutritious food. But upon clearing the allergy, you should try to eat more wholesome, nutritious foods. You should avoid refined, bleached food that is devoid of nutrients. Many people who are feeling poorly due to undiagnosed food allergies, may take vitamins or other supplements to increase their vitality after they get treated for the specific supplements. If they happen to be allergic to the nutritional supplements they are taking, this can actually make them feel worse. Only after clearing those allergies, can their bodies properly assimilate them. So nutritional assessment should be done periodically and if needed, appropriate supplements should be taken to receive faster results.

Questions & Answers
Q. "What are allergies?"

A.
From a Western medical perspective, allergy is an overreaction by the immune system. In NAET®, allergies are viewed from a holistic perspective, based on Oriental Medical principles. An allergy is a condition of unusual sensitivity of one person to one or more substances that may be harmless to the majority of individuals. In the allergic person, the allergic substance (known as an allergen), is viewed by the brain as a threat to the body's well-being. Therefore, for our purposes, an allergy is defined in terms of what a substance does to the energy flow in the body. Allergies are the result of energy imbalances in the body, leading to a diminished state of health in one or more organ systems.

When contact is made with an allergen, it causes blockages in the energy pathways called meridians. Thought about in another way, it disrupts the normal flow of energy through the body's electrical circuits. This energy blockage causes interference in communication between the brain and body via the nervous system. This blocked energy flow is the first step in a chain of events which can develop into an allergic response.

Q. "How do I find and treat my allergies?"

A.
Conventional Western medicine has several methods for testing allergies. These include the "Intra-dermal test," "Patch test", "Scratch test", and various blood tests such as the "RAST test" and the "ELISA test." These can identify dozens of allergens from one test or from one blood sample.

The standard treatment is drug therapy using either antihistamines or steroids to control allergic symptoms. Unfortunately, this does not correct the underlying problem, and often the allergy sufferer experiences serious long term side effects.

The most effective treatment option until now has been complete avoidance of the offending allergen(s). This can be difficult and in some cases impossible. Now, however, there is an alternative... Allergy Elimination Techniques such as AACT.

Q. "Traditional allergy testing and treatments are painful and expensive. Is there a way I can get rid of my allergies?"

A.
Yes. By testing and treating with the AACT work from Nambudripad`s Testing Techniques(NTT)! This revolutionary approach is particularly relevant for dealing with allergies, one of the most stubborn health problems facing mankind today. It is a natural, drugless, painless, non-invasive method that can be used safely on a newborn infant, on the elderly, even on a healthy person to treat hidden allergies that could cause disease in the future. It can be used on pets, invalids, children, even patients in a coma. NAET® can reduce or eliminate allergies to the items cleared by this method.

With this technique, allergens are cleared (treated) one at a time, in a specific order. The good news is that following the prescribed formula, allowing for the 25-hour avoidance of the treated substance, one session is all it usually takes to reduce/clear an allergy. Highly sensitive individuals may require additional "combination" clearings.

Q. "A treatment for my health problems really exists?"

A.
Yes! At last there is freedom from allergies and ailments arising from allergies.

Dr. Nambudripad`s knowledge in Eastern and Western medicine gave her the insights which guided her towards the discovery of this unique treatment to overcome her own serious allergic reactions to foods.

In her own words, Dr. Nambudripad tells the amazing story of how she freed herself from life-long allergies and the discovery of NAET®, in her book Say Goodbye to Illness. It contains fascinating case histories of a variety of health disorders, as well as some of the theoretical basis for her technique.

Say Goodbye To Illness is recommended reading for anyone who wants to find relief from allergies, and /or anyone with a chronic health problem.

People fly to Southern California from all over the world to be treated by Dr. Nambudripad with NAET®.

Q. "I`m presently seeing a chiropractor. How does my doctor's treatment differ from NAET®?"

A.
Most standard chiropractic treatments are centered around chiropractic adjustments, avoidance of harmful activities and perhaps stringent diets in combination with dietary supplements.

Nothing in standard medical practice or chiropractic can offer the hope of health improvement and freedom from allergies which is possible through the use of NAET®. NAET® uses Oriental medical procedures for diagnosis and chiropractic principles for treatment. In fact, it is recommended that you continue your Chiropractic care while undergoing the AACT work with Dr. Jones. If you are not currently under Chiropractic care, Dr. Jones can preform the Chiropractic services or refer you to another Chiropractor.

Q. "How do acupuncture and acupressure relate to allergy treatment by NAET®?"

A.
Since acupuncture (or acupressure) points fall along the body's energy pathways, or meridians, either of these methods may be used to balance the nervous system to bring the body to a state of homeostasis. This is done in the presence of a given allergen, so that an allergic reaction will not result upon future contact with that same substance. When this result is obtained, the patient is said to have been "cleared" of his allergy to that substance.

Q. "How long does this 'clearance' last?"

A.
In our experience, if clearance is still effective 24 hours after treatment, it is lasting and should be for the life of the patient. We have not seen any recurrence of allergies from a successfully treated allergen in 20 years. So we believe it should be for the life of the patient.

Q. How does the nutritional assessment help NAET®?

A.
Once you have been completely cleared for a particular food or environmental substance, it will no longer be necessary for you to avoid it. The reason we do nutritional assessment and balancing during and after a series of treatments by NAET®, is to restore strength and vitality to the body, which has long been deprived of its proper share of nutrients due to the allergic sensitivity to the items in the diet.

Q. NAET® Treatment procedures? What is it and how does it work?

A.
After diagnosis has been completed using standard medical testing procedures, computerized testing (NAET®ER), and kinesiological muscle response testing, a systematic treatment procedure is begun in which the central nervous system is mildly stimulated in the presence of each allergen, in order to reprogram the brain with the new message. Most patients can successfully be treated by acupressure around the spine to stimulate the nerves which convey messages to and from the brain going to the organs and other tissues all over the body.

Q. "You said, 'most patients.' Does this mean that acupuncture may have to be used in some cases?"

A.
Many patients can be cleared of their reaction, upon initial treatment with acupressure alone. But there are those who may require several treatments before clearing is accomplished--the addition of acupuncture has proven helpful in speeding up the process.

Also, note that the number of treatments required for clearing an allergen may vary not only between patients, but between different allergens with the same patient; the more severe the patient's reaction to a substance, the greater the likelihood that more than one treatment will be required for clearing.

Q. "Is the acupuncture painful?"

A.
No. It`s only slightly uncomfortable, if at all. And it`s completely optional. Application of the acupressure technique has proven to be as effective as acupuncture, though in some cases it may not produce results as quickly.

Q. "Will I be completely cured of my allergies?"

A.
80-90% of the patients treated thus far by NAET® have experienced complete relief from their allergic symptoms to the items for which they have been treated. Most of them report that contact with previously troublesome foods or environmental substances no longer cause adverse effects.

Q. "How long will it take before I experience this degree of success?'

A.
The total length of the treatment program varies greatly from one individual to another, depending upon the number of specific allergies, and the overall intensity of the allergic condition. It may take anywhere from 10 to 40 visits, depending on your condition, to note significant results. For best results, usually just one allergen (or one group of closely related allergens) should be identified and treated per office visit.

Q. "Will my medical insurance pay for the treatments?"

A.
NAET® has insurance billing codes approved since year 2000. Some insurance companies have signed with the program. You have to check with your insurance company if your plan is covered for NAET® treatments. Insurance companies pay to treat symptoms. They do not pay for treating the cause. NAET® treats the cause. So it is not a "usual and customary treatment" for insurance companies to pay. Sometime in the future, You may be able to convince your insurance companies to pay for NAET® treatments. Please check the site "Alternative link.com" for more information on ABC Billing codes. Until then, most insurance carriers will pay for treating symptoms. Most of us visit our doctors with some pain or discomfort anyway. Check with your job or your doctor to find out if you are covered. Also an insurance policy that covers chiropractic or acupuncture treatments should pay the appropriate amount according to the policy's provisions.

The Allergic Patient
Q. What`s going on doctor? One minute, I feel fine and the next minute I feel miserable.

A.
This question is asked by more than half the patients seeking answers and relief to the misery of their mysterious health problems. They may be simply suffering from allergic reactions to what they inhale, ingest or contact in their environments every day. They may in fact be living with hidden or undiagnosed allergies.

Q. "Can allergies cause real illness? Serious illness?"

A.
They certainly can. When a virus attacks, this sets off a struggle, to rid the body of the invading virus and the symptoms. Fever, coughing, aches, fatigue, vomiting, etc. are signals that the body is trying to throw off the invading virus and its toxins. Untreated, the symptoms increase, usually with serious results.

Similarly, continuous contact with an allergen produces toxins in the body, causing similar reactions to occur. An undiagnosed or undetected allergic condition will produce conditions that are equally serious. Many times, the allergic reactions produce symptoms that mimic other conditions. Just about any health condition can be a symptom of underlying allergies. If such conditions are not diagnosed correctly, the patient may receive a treatment procedure that could further complicate and worsen his or her¡¦s condition.

Q. "Then my symptoms are genuine? I`m not just imagining them?"

A.
No, you`re not imagining them. In their mildest form, allergies may be mere nuisances. But for some people with severe allergies, accidental contact with a particular allergen may produce terrifying symptoms, almost as though the person had swallowed poison.

In either case diagnosis is not simple, but usually the milder the complaint, the harder it is for the patient to get effective treatment.

For example, how do you get proper diagnosis and treatment for "feeling out of sorts?" For a slight loss of memory or occasional mental confusion? For a slight but persistent sore throat, cough, or backache? For a tingling feeling in the hands and arms that cannot be diagnosed by a neurologist? Some of these unfortunate people have seen so many physicians, so many times, that they eventually are labeled incorrectly as hypochondriacs, when, in fact, they are people with genuine health problems.

History of Nambudripad's Techniques - How were NAET® developed?
Q. "How was NAET® developed?"

A.
NAET® was developed by Dr. Devi S. Nambudripad, a California acupuncturist, chiropractor, and a kinesiologist, in an attempt to relieve herself of severe allergic symptoms suffered since her birth in Kerala, South India.

While working on her Ph.D. at Samra University of Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles, she observed that people presenting allergic symptoms often responded favorably to acupuncture or acupressure treatment. After recognition of the systemic relationship between contact with an allergen and the resulting neuro-physiological effects produced in the body, she began to discover the key to the mystery of how the brain may be reprogrammed in its response to what it once took to be harmful or toxic.

Her own experience and personal interest led her to develop the method later referred to collectively as NAET®, and to specialize exclusively in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies. She has trained more than Nine thousand medical practitioners from all over the world (chiropractors, acupuncturists, allopathic medical doctors, dentists, doctors of osteopathy, doctors of veterinary medicine are some among the group). To date, thousands of patients successfully have been treated, with amazing results. Various studies have been published in peer reviewed journals and many more are now underway
to prove the effectiveness of NAET®.
